JAMMU, June 1: A week-long Football coaching camp for young boys and girls, organised by international footballer from Jammu, Arun Malhotra and his team, concluded at Dr B R Ambedkar Stadium, Dehradun, today.
The camp was organised with a motto to educate young kids about the basics of Football and to provide a platform where they could spend their summer holidays by learning the game’s techniques.
Around 135 young budding footballers were involved in this first of its kind coaching camp at Dehradun by the serving as well as retired footballers of the ONGC including international footballer from Jammu Arun Malhotra.
During the camp, various techniques of the games were narrated by the footballers to the budding players said, Arun Malhotra- an awardee of Sher-e-Kashmir Award, adding that the players were enthusiastic to learn more techniques during the camp, which was sponsored by ONGC and other retired ONGC officials having football background.
“This camp was similar to one, organised by his team at Khel Gaon, Nagrota in Jammu a few months back,” said Malhotra who is presently serving the ONGC for the last many years and posted at Dehradun.
Monika Bisht, Jyoti Rawat, Jitu Chetrri, Kamini, Avinash Popeye, Anjali, Routela, Pramod Thapa, Naveen Bhandari, D S Bisht, I Ahmed, Shiv Nath, Manmohan Negi and Anand Joshi were among the technical team members of the camp.
