RAMBAN, June 6: Jammu Kashmir Teachers’ Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) held one day convention at Ukhral, here today under the leadership of Vice Chairman Aftab Malik and District President Hari Lal Nag .
On the occasion Vinod Sharma UT President JKTJAC was the chief guest and UT Chairman Saleem Sagar & UT Gen.Secretary were the guests of honour. The convention was attended by a large number of teachers of zone Ukhral.
Vinod Sharma while addressing the convention, appealed the LG administration to revive old pension scheme for all the NPS employees of Jammu and Kashmir appointed after 01.01.2010 so that their post retirement life not be in trouble.
He also appealed the Government to frame a comprehensive transfer policy in favour of teachers appointed under ReT scheme as they have been serving in same schools for last more than 20 years . Raising issue of inclusion of 5 years ReT period for seniority benefits , he sought the favour of the department in the court to resolve it .
Welcoming the step of the government to start KG classes in the Government schools, he demanded free uniform, free books and other incentives to these students so that people are encouraged to enroll more and more students in Government schools.
Speaking on the occasion, Saleem Sagar demanded rationalisation of teaching staff to overcome the shortage of staff in far flung areas. He also demanded relieving of Teachers/Masters from non teaching assignments; sanction of posts of Masters in SSA upgraded middle schools and DPC of Teachers to Masters as same is pending since 2014.
Speaking on the occasion, General Secretary Najam Jafri appealed the Director School Education Jammu/Kashmir to regularise the left out ReTs and convert the regularised RRETs to teachers Grade II/III so that they may get their salaries. He also demanded raising of grade of teachers at par with their counterparts in other UTs.
Zonal President Ukhral, Farooq Ahmed Lone presented vote of thanks while proceedings of the programme were conducted by Ashraf Katoch.
