JAMMU, June 10: Students displayed their talent as Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) Jammu, in collaboration with the J&K Department of Information and Public Relations, organized `Media Manch Youth Festival-2022′, here today..
On this occasion, a dance, singing, and poetry recitation competition was held in which more than 100 students of several colleges of entire Jammu and Kashmir participated.
This day-long festival was inaugurated by Namrata Dogra, Joint Director, Directorate of Information and Public Relation, J&K. Director-General of IIMC, Prof Sanjay Dwivedi was the special guest on the occasion. Regional Director IIMC Jammu, Prof Rakesh Kumar Goswami welcomed the guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Sanjay Dwivedi said that communication skills are essential for every person. Society needs to know the nuances of good communication, he added.
Namrata Dogra, in her address, said that the students of Jammu are very talented and this type of festival encourages them. Prof Rakesh Goswami said that IIMC is the premier institute to encourage the skills of the students.
In the valedictory session, Prof Ashok Aima, Ex-VC, Central University of Jammu awarded the winners of all three competitions. In the poetry recitation competition, Deepak Kumar, Diksha, and Ashita were first, second and third winners respectively. Bharti Thakur, Eva Sandhu, and Mavish Sharma were first, second and third winners respectively in the singing competition. Saba and her group, Meenu Rukwal, and Subrili Sharma were the first, second, and third winners of the singing contest respectively.
The event was moderated by IIMC students Anushka, Debvrata, Tanya, Rishika, Ishika, Pooja, Priyanshi, Harshika, and Shashank. The convenor of this event was Dr Vinit Utpal, Assistant Professor, IIMC, Jammu. Prof Dilip Kumar, Associate Professor, and Sanjit Khajuria were also present there.
