Rajendra distributes sports kits among students

SRINAGAR, June 9: As a part of civic action programme, Jammu and Kashmir Police distributed various sports kits to the students of Lal Public High School at a simple function held in the school premises here today.
The Director General of Police (DGP), K Rajendra Kumar was the chief guest on the occasion.
While speaking, Rajendra said that Jammu and Kashmir Police is discharging professional policing and has remained on forefront in promoting sports and cultural activities in the State, adding the Organization has been focusing in the sports arena and providing assistance to the sports lovers under its Civic Action Programme. The Organisation has also been promoting Qualitative education in the state, DGP said.
He said that during the years of conflict our State has suffered a lot especially in the field of education and now with the cooperation of people a congenial atmosphere has prevailed and our youth started to excel in the highest professional competitions of the country.
On the occasion, sports kits including football, volleyball cricket and race kits were donated to the Institution by the DGP. He said that sports activities keep a person physically and mentally fit leading his proper growth in the field of education.
The students presented colourful cultural programmes on the occasion and the DGP assured them that all possible assistance would be provided to the Institution to enhance its educational activities. He announced that two computer systems would be provided to the school to suffice the requirement of students. He also announced cash rewards for the students and the composer who presented the cultural items.
Among others the function was attended by IGP (Armed), Kashmir, Rauf-ul-Hassan, DIG (Armed) Kashmir, Sheikh Abdul Hamid, Commandants Mohammad Yousuf Mir and Saif-ud-Din, Dy SP Sports, Jameel Anjum, School Management and the Principal.
