DIC Kathua organises symposium on global warming

KATHUA, Sept 11: District Information Centre, Kathua organised a symposium on the affects of global warming here at Government Girls Middle School (proper) here at Kathua today.
Zonal Education Officer Kathua, Chanderkala Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion, while Headmistress Neelam Gupta and staff of the school was present on the occasion.
As many as 10 students of the school participated in the symposium and threw light on the subject. The speakers said main cause behind the problem of global warming is pollution caused by the industries, automobiles and other activities involving burning of various fuels and felling of trees. They suggested that problem can be checked by planting more and more trees and checking the pollution.
A panel of judges comprising Neha Sharma, Poonam Rani and Pooja Mahajan adjudged the participants of the symposium.
Pummy of class 8th secured the 1st position, while the 2nd position was bagged by Kajal of class 8th and the third position was clinched by Kajal of class 6th.
