Sikh organizations condemn terror attack at Kabul Gurudwara

JAMMU, June 19: In a meeting here today various Sikh organizations condemned the terror attack on Gurudwara Karte Parwan in Kabul, Afghanistan.
The meeting was chaired by S. Sudershan Singh Wazir, chairman Sikh United Front (SUF) J&K.
Speaking in the meeting Wazir said that the attack has shaken global Sikh community and such coward acts reflect despicable intentions of attackers, requiring us to stand together for humanity.
He further said that there can be no justification for the killing of civilians at a religious place and expressed condolences to the victim families.
Recalling UN plan of action to safeguard religious sites in Afghanistan, he called on all the Governments and relevant stakeholders to support implementation of the plan to guarantee the sanctity of worship places and safety of worshipers.
Wazir urged upon the Indian Government to coordinate with Afghan Government so that security of Sikh community can be ensured there.
He said that Government of India should use its diplomatic channels to convey Afghanistan the strongest feelings of India against the attack.
S. Mohinder Singh, chief organizer Bhai Kanaya Nishkam Sewa Society J&K; S. Darbinder Singh, president Shiromani Akali Dal J&K; S. Rajinder Singh, general secretary Shiromani Akali Dal J&K; S. Raja Singh, member DGPC Jammu; S. Kulwant Singh Khajuria, joint secretary Shiromani Akali Dal J&K and others were also present in the meeting.
