RAJOURI, Sept 13: The 2-day Inter-District Divisional Level under 14-19 categories Boys Khabadi Tournament concluded here today. The tournament was organized by Youth Services and Sports Department to promote traditional sports activities in the District.
Minister of State for Health, Shabir Ahmad Khan was chief guest at the concluding ceremony and distributed trophies among winner and runner up teams.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that sports talent in Jammu and Kashmir was second to none and the government has taken necessary measures to provide opportunities to youth to prove their ability at the national and international level. He said and added that the government has given due attention to the development of sports infrastructure in the state and a network of sports fields and stadia are being developed in all the districts of the state to promote the sports activities. He said young players would be provided training to sharpen their skills and help them excel in this field.
Shabir asked the youth to take part in sports activities and bring Jammu and Kashmir on the sports map of the country. He asked them to show full commitment in the games and bring laurel for the State.
He said government would provide all possible help to sports organizations and sportspersons to realize their dreams.
District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, District Youth Services and Sports Officer and various District Officers of other departments and a large number of people were present on the occasion.
