47 injured in bus mishap

RAJOURI, Sept 16: At least 47 persons were injured, some of them seriously when an over loaded  bus fell into a gorge near Peeri about 10 kms from here today.
The mishap took place at around 5.10 pm when the ill-fated over loaded bus number JK02F/6646, was on its way to Peeri about 12 kms from Rajouri town. As the vehicle reached at Kote Dhara, the driver lost control and it landed into a gorge. It took two turns and was stopped with the trees. Nearly 65 passengers were on board.
Immediately after the mishap, the locals of the area and police reached there. They started the rescue work. Three ambulances were also rushed from Rajouri hospital to the site of accident. Some senior police and civil officers also rushed and supervised the rescue operation. All the injured were removed to district hospital, Rajouri.  One of the accident victims, namely Resham Bi, wife of Sepoy Mohd Sadiq of Sankari village was admitted  to Army hospital, Rajouri.
Three other seriously injured were referred to Govt Medical College hospital Jammu. They were identified as  Mohd Zaman, son of  Wazir Mohd, resident of  Tarkasi, Shamim, wife of Mohd Asgar of Sankari and Rajinder Kumar, son of Prem Nath, resident of  Kot Dhara.
All others were admitted to district hospital Rajouri and some of them were discharged late this evening. The victims are- Nasim Kouser of  Sankari, Saima, daughter of Shabir of Sankari, Shagufta, wife of Asif  of Mahut, Mohd Akram, son of  Fateh Mohd of Sankari, Mohd Alyas of Kot Dharma, Nasim Akhtar, wife of Mohd Hanief of  Tarkasi, Aksaat, wife of  Abdul Qayum of Sora Gala, Suriva, wife of Mohd Nasir of  Sankari, Kaneez, daughter of Ghulam Nabi of  Rehan, Mohd Rzak of Tarkasi, Nasim Akhtar of Kotdara, Munir Hussain of Tarkasi, Sabina of Sankari, Mohd Asif of Mulhut, Nazia from Sankari, Safeena daughter of Mohd Amin of Police Lines Rajouri, Mohd Ishfaq son of Mohd Hanief of  Tarkasi, Sunita Devi, wife of Kewal Raj of  Rehan, Talib Hussain of Rehan, Sakian Bi, Poli Devi, Farzana Kouser, Rakesh Chander, Damini Devi, Anu Radha,  Sita Ram and Malika Khatoon from Rehan, Mohd Kafeel  and Showkat Parvez, Arbia, Nasim Akhtar from Sankri,  Rakesh Kumar, Anzar Ahmed, Surjeet Singh, Reeta Devi, Goutam  Lal, Sonika and Dinesh Kumar from Rehan, Nasim Akhtar, wife of Zulfiqar and  and Ibrar son of Zulfiqar from Kotedhara, Mohd Shabir from Bunda Naka, Kala Khan and his wife Sakina from Dhangri in Rajouri.  The police has taken cognizance of the matter while driver was said to be absconding.
