JAMMU, Sept 17: Government Degree College (GDC) Udhampur and Government College for Engineering and Technology (GCET), Jammu scripted convincing victories over their rivals in women’s section of the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Chess Tournament, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Jammu University Gymnasium, here.
Earlier, GDC Udhampur thrashed Post Graduate Department, University of Jammu by (4-0), while GCET Jammu drubbed GCW Gandhi Nagar by ( 3-1).
The teams of GDC Kathua and GCW Parade got walkovers against their rivals, who failed to turn up.
Meanwhile, in the men’s section, New Age College, Billawar outplayed GDC Bhaderwah by (3-1), GDC Hiranagar outclassed GDC Paloura, GDC Billawar beat GDC Ramnagar, GGM Science College trounced SPMR College of Commerce and PG Department beat GDC Poonch, while GCET Jammu, GDC Kathua and GDC Udhampur teams got walkovers over their rivals.
