JAMMU, Sept 20: JKCA Blues got better of JKCA Reds by 2 wickets in the Under-19 boys trial matches, being organized by the JKCA Provincial Committee, under the overall supervision of its convener, Mehboob Iqbal at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, JKCA Reds scored 193 runs in the stipulated 50 overs. Jagteshwar Singh was the top scorer with 50 runs off 40 balls, studded with 5 boundaries, while skipper Ateev Saini contributed 32 off 27 balls with the help of 4 fours. Nitish Jamwal and Vivek contributed 27 and 25 runs to the total respectively. For JKCA Blues, Amir and Arjun Bharti claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, JKCA Blues reached the target by losing 8 wickets, thus won the match by 2 wickets. Jatin Wadhawan slammed a brilliant half-century (58*) off 30 balls including 9 fours and 2 sixes, while Subrat and Abhishek Bakshi contributed 28 and 23 runs to the total respectively. Prajwal Sharma was pick of the bowlers, who scalped 3 wickets by conceding 15 runs in 5 overs, while Sahil claimed one.
The match was officiated by Madan Singh and Sunny Choudhary as umpires, while Pankaj Dutt was the match referee.
Meanwhile, as per the handout issued here, convener Provincial Committee has advised the selectors to pick best possible probables who will be sent to Srinagar for the selection trials of State team.
