Aveesh, Akash guide JKCA Greens to 5-wkt win

JAMMU, Sept 21: Aveesh Sharma scored magnificent 51 runs and Akash Choudhary scalped 4 important wickets to guide JKCA Greens register victory by 5 wickets over JKCA Reds in the ongoing selection trial matches, organized by JKCA Provincial Committee at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here.

Earlier, put into bat, JKCA Reds scored a fighting total of 226 runs in the stipulated 50 overs. Atul Saini, Rahul Sagotra, Mohit Tang and Tushar contributed 32, 28, 28 and 21 runs to the total respectively. For JKCA Greens, Akash Choudhary was the wrecker-in-chief, who bagged 4 important wickets by conceding 25 runs in his 10 overs, while Sunil bagged 3 wickets and Abid Mushtaq 2 wickets.
In reply, JKCA Greens chased the target in 46 overs by losing 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Aveesh slammed a brilliant half-century (51) runs of 66 balls including 6 delectable boundaries, while Surya Mahotra contributed 44 runs off 49 balls with 4 boundaries. Nipun Verma also contributed 23 runs to the total. Ramandeep bagged 3 wickets for JKCA Reds, while Rajan and Tayyab claimed one wicket each.
The match was officiated by Madan Singh and Sunny Choudhary as umpires, while Pankaj Dutt was the match referee.
