JAMMU, Sept 21: One-day Inter-Polytechnic Chess Competition was organized in the Campus of North Polytechnic, Purkhoo Camp, here today.
The Tournament was first of its kind in Jammu division in which students from different Government and Private Polytechnic Colleges of Jammu region participated.
The participating Colleges included IECS Polytechnic, North Polytechnic, Government Polytechnic, Jammu, NITS Polytechnic, Kalamkari Polytechnic and Government Polytechnic for Women, Jammu.
The audience were enthralled by the cultural item presented by students of North Polytechnic. The prizes and certificates of participation were presented by Er Vidhi S Singh, chairman, Jamwal Group of Educational Institution, who was the chief guest on the occasion, while Er Renu Bangroo, Managing Director, Jamwal Group of Educational Institution was the guest of honour.
Sachin Sawhney of Government Polytechnic, Jammu was the winner of the Competition, while Nikhil Koul of Government Polytechnic Jammu was the first runners-up and Sahil Kumar of IECS Polytechnic was the second runnes-up.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Er K. R Sharma, Principal, North Polytechnic, Prof KG Gupta, Principal, IECS Polytechnic, Er. Sanjay Verma (NITS), Reeta Kundal (GPWJ) Er P L Tickoo (KVOP), Er Dinesh Gupta and Er. Ajay Singh Jamwal.
