Srinagar Carrom C’ship concludes

SRINAGAR, July 31: District Srinagar Carrom Championship, organised by District Association under the auspices of J&K Carrom Association, concluded here today.
About 120 players from different Schools, Colleges and Institutes of Srinagar district participated in the championship which was organised under the rules of International Carrom Federation in four different categories including senior, junior, sub junior and cadet in both boys and girls, men and women section.
Mahmood Shah Director Industries and Commerce, Sahil Sarangal, SP Srinagar East, Zeshan Khan Assistant Director Tourism Kashmir and Akbar Khan Member J&K Sports Council were the special guests of the prize distribution ceremony. They distributed the awards and certificates among the winners and runners up of the event.
Adil Rashid Shah, general secretary J&K Carrom Association presented welcome address and welcomed the special guests and other dignitaries including Arif Sultan, Dawar Rashid, Sheikh Saqib (Office bearers of J&K Carrom Association), Abida Mehraj president District Srinagar Carrom Association and Talib Rashid general secretary District Association.
In cadet boys section, Salman Nisar, Yasir Tariq and Arhan stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, while in cadet girls section, first three places were secured by Halla Middha, Adeena Mirza and Hurrain respectively, in sub junior boys, Shaniful Alam, Aiyan Bilal and Aayan Sajad won first three medals, in sub junior girls, Zoya Firdous, Aiyaan Bilal and Aayan Sajad stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, in junior boys, Umar Fayaz, Ayan Naqeeb and Adnan Shameem won top three positions, in junior girls, Zainab Nisar, Pakiza and Ziya Bhat remained 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, in senior men, first three places were clinched by Furqan Nazir, Hilal Bashir and Arsalan Mehraj respectively and in senior women, Ridda Madni, Aqsa and Asra Shafi won first three medals respectively.
