JAMMU, Aug 2: 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Rajinder Sapru has awarded life-imprisonment to four accused namely Rakesh Khajuria, Gourav Sharma, Parveen Singh and Barkat Singh, who were facing trial in murder case for the last 14 years.
After hearing Special Public Prosecutor EA Tak for the UT whereas Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi and Advocate RK Kotwal appearing for the accused persons, the court observed, “the prosecution has succeeded in proving beyond a reasonable shadow of doubt that accused persons in order to avenge the old enmity had reached the place of occurrence—Canal Head Tanda and there in furtherance of their common criminal intention chased deceased Harminder Singh and then inflicted several injuries by using sharp edged weapons”.
“The accused have committed the offences under Section 302 RPC and Arms Act as such they are convicted and awarded life imprisonment”, the court said.
