SAMBA, Aug, 2: District Police Samba today foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescued 14 animals and arrested one bovine smuggler in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal.
Acting on information received from reliable sources regarding illegal transportation of bovines, a police team of Police Station (PS) Ghagwal near Naka Tapyal Ghagwal, NHW intercepted a truck bearing Registration Number JK02AQ/2395 for checking.
During checking the truck, 14 bovines were found which were tied in a cruel manner and were transported without any permission.
The driver of the vehicle namely Rafaqat Ali, son of Mohammad Sardar of Surinsar has been arrested.
In this regard, a case FIR Number 115/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Ghagwal and investigation started.
All the bovines were rescued and shifted to a safer place. The vehicle used for transporting the bovines was also seized.
