Dental College Jammu lifts IDA Cricket Cup

JAMMU, Sept 22: Defeating Institute of Dental Sciences (IDS) by 4 wickets, the team of Government Dental College (GDC), Jammu lifted the title trophy of the IDA Cricket Cup-2013 at University of Jammu Grounds, here today.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, IDS made 105 runs in 18 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process.
In reply GDC, Jammu won the match in the 16th over by losing 6 wickets. Fayaz from GDC was adjudged man of the match.
Dr Dhain Singh Bhau, Director Physical Education was chief guest on the occasion, who while speaking advised the players to participate more and more in sports events, adding that taking part in games and sports is best way to overcome the stress and remain fit.
The match was officiated by Dr Nikhil Dev Wazir and Dr Moin. In the league match held yesterday evening, the team of Institute of Dental Sciences (IDS) defeated the team of Indian Dental Association Staff and Faculty members.
Dr Rajeev Mengi, Vice-President IDA, Jammu branch and Oral Pathologist at IDS and Dr Bhupinder Singh, Secretary IDA spoke on the occasion. Executive Committee of IDA Jammu thanked Dr Gautam Sharma, Dental Surgeon of University of Jammu for making IDA Cup -2013 a success.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Jai Bharat and Rajkumar Bakshi from the Department of Physical Education, University of Jammu.
