JKCA’s Sr Men’s Multi-Day Tournament

JAMMU, Aug 4: Stylish southpaw Suryansh Raina, promising Abhishant Bakshi and young Gulzar Ahmed made their willow to talk by cracking big half-centuries, while left-arm spinner Aman Sharma, off-spinner Mujeeb Nadaf, off-spinner Sahil Lotra and left-arm spinner Sampark Gupta took 4-wicket hauls in three different matches played today in the ongoing Senior Men’s Multi-Day Tournament, being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at various venues across the Union Territory.
At Country Cricket Stadium Gharota, put into bat, JKCA A3 bundled out for 122 runs in 36.4 overs in their first innings. Skipper Henan Malik top scored with unbeaten 50 runs, while Sampark Gupta contributed unbeaten 23 runs to the total. Left-arm spinner Ritik Singh was the pick of the bowlers for JKCA A2, who took 4 wickets by conceding 20 runs in 12 overs, while Ramdayal and Sarvashish bagged 2 wickets each.
In reply, JKCA A2 were 219/6 at the draw of stumps today.
Suryansh Raina top scored with power-packed 93 runs off 106 balls, while Abhishant Bakshi contributed valuable 84 runs to the total. Sampark Gupta took 4 wickets, while Kunal Singh and Nitish Salaria claimed 1 wicket each.
At Jammu University ground, JKCA A4 took a slender first innings lead of 8 runs over A5.
Batting first, JKCA A4 collapsed at 109 runs. Sahil Lotra scored 28 runs, while Arya Suvansh Thakur and Shubham Pundir contributed 14 runs each.
For JKCA A5, Aman Sharma was the wrecker-in-chief, who took 4 wickets by conceding 28 runs, while Jaipal claimed 2 wickets and Saksham claimed one.
In reply, JKCA A5 bundled out for 101 runs. Vivrant Sharma scored 28 runs, while Abdul Samad and Saksham contributed 20 runs each. Sahil Lotra took 4 wickets while Kulvinder Singh and Sushant claimed 2 wickets each.
JKCA A4 were 80/1 in 20 overs in the second essay.
Arya Suvansh was at the crease with 43, while Sahil Lotra was unbeaten on 29 runs at the draw of stumps. Marutwan took the lone wicket to fall.
At Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, Srinagar, resuming from an overnight score of 59/3, JKCA B2 scored 231 runs thus conceded a first innings lead of 47 runs to JKCA B4. Gulzar Ahmed top scored with 92 runs, while Irfan Ul Haq and Momin Wani contributed 25 and 21 runs respectively. Mujeeb Nadaf was the pick of the bowlers, who took 4 wickets by giving away 30 runs in 14.2 overs, while Shahrukh Dar bagged 2 wickets and Faizan claimed one.
The matches are being officiated by Vikram Dogra, Deepak Gupta, Dayal Singh, Girdhari Lal, Hilal Mir and Faizan Fayaz as Umpires, while Ashok Singh, Sabastian Frank and Amjid acted as the scorers.
