JAMMU, Sept 25: Ace sportsperson of Jammu and Kashmir, Atul Pangotra bagged gold medal in the 6th National Taekwondo Poomsae Championship held at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium, Imphal in Manipur, recently.
The Championship was organized by Taekwondo Federation of India.
A Commonwealth medalist, Atul, who is serving in the Department of Youth Services and Sports, retained his title by displaying fabulous skill and showing motor-ability, anticipation and sharp reflexes in the Senior Individual Category.
Atul, who has the distinction of having been selected for 8th World Taekwondo Poomsae Championship to be held in Bali in Indonesia from October 31 to November 3, 2013, is hopeful that the J&K Government would sponsors him for the event.
Meanwhile, the office bearers of J&K Taekwondo Association headed by its president while lauding the efforts of Pangotra, have attributed his success to both the premier sports agencies of the State namely the Department of Youth Services and Sports and the J&K State Sports Council.
