SRINAGAR, Sept 26: To provide ample opportunity to the cricketers of various age groups for showcasing their skill and talent, the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association has decided to organize a Super League Cricket Tournament for selected probables in Srinagar and Jammu respectively.
The JKCA selectors have constituted five teams for competing in these Super League Matches, the participation in which is mandatory for the probables to help selectors to pick the State teams after watching the players performing in the long-version matches.
According to a handout issued here, the five teams have been named on the names of former legendary cricketers including RC Ticku, Kanwar Sethi, SDA Drabu, Parvaiz Qureshi and Fazil Kanth.
“The players who do not participate in these matches will not be considered for selection of the teams to represent the State in the forthcoming National Tournaments to be held under the banner of BCCI,” said Manzoor Wazir, treasurer JKCA.
He further said that the matches will be held at Jammu analogous to the same pattern and the teams will be selected thereafter, adding that JKCA has already sent it’s ‘A’ team to Pune for participation in 3-day matches and the performance of the players in these matches will also be considered while selecting teams.
