POONCH, Aug 22: Massive traffic jam on Mughal Road in Poshana area of Surankote in district Poonch made the road users to suffer for long.
Several people caught in long traffic jam in Behramgalla and Poshana area today said that on the name of checking/ frisking by Army and Police, long traffic jams are being created on Mughal Road. Today many vehicles remained trapped for hours together in the traffic jams. The passengers travelling along with their children had to suffer for long.
They pointed out that this has become routine now in Poshana and Behramgalla area. They said not only trucks and other load carriers, but many Tempo travelers and other light motor vehicles are made to wait for long on the name of checking every day. Since the road is narrow, a jam like situation is caused every day. Even SSP and DC Poonch were also informed about the matter today by some people caught in the traffic jam, they said.
A senior officer from Poonch, however, claimed that in case of any specific information with regard to smuggling of contraband and movement of some suspicious people, the police lays naka to nab such elements. For thorough checking and frisking, the general public also suffers some times, he added.
