KATHUA, Sept 26: Minister of State for Fisheries, Cooperatives, Finance and Planning Dr Manohar Lal Sharma conducted whirlwind tour of tehsil Billawar and launched many new works and dedicated the completed works to the public at various places.
Dr Sharma dedicated newly built Primary Health Centre building Koug to the public and also inaugurated 1st phase of 1.95 cr Water Supply Scheme Koug. He also inaugurated Laboratory Block of Government Higher Secondary School Koug and dedicated Sanitation Complex building to the Koug people.
He also laid foundation stone of Toilet Complex at Government Middle School (Girls) Koug and 3 additional class rooms at Middle School Sarah to be completed under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan ( SSA) .
Dr Sharma while speaking on the occasion said that Government was committed to strengthen the health infrastructure to provide better health services across the State. He said State Coalition Government with the liberal funding from the Union Government is going to open 600 new Health Sub Centres in the state to provide health services at the door steps of the people. He said work on Primary Health Centre Sukrala, Chinji Makwal and Bhaiya was nearing completion.
The Minister also listened to people’s grievances and assured them that their genuine demands will be addressed on priority basis.
The issues raised by the residents of Koug, Garh Malti, Lahri were mainly related to posting of staff at Middle School Garh Malti, early completion of Water Supply Scheme Garh Malti, repair of Koug road, augmentation of drinking water at Dhalfar, Dhrakhad and Morian, opening of JK Bank at Koug, status of RBA, compensation for rain and flood affected families.
Dr Sharma passed directions to the officers of PWD, PDD, Irrigation and CAPD to complete the works on priority so that people don’t face any hardship in getting basic amenities. He directed the District Panchayat Officer to speed up the works on public latrines at village Sarah under Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan.
