Minister of Railways visits Bijnor Railway Station of Northern Railway

JAMMU, Aug 23: Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw visited Bijnor Railway Station in Moradabad Division of Northern Railway today.
Boarding the carriage from Delhi Safdarjung Station, he conducted a rear window inspection of Delhi Safdarjung-Ghaziabad-Bijnor rail line.
The Minister was accompanied by Ashutosh Gangal, General Manager, Northern Railway, NN Singh, ADRM, Moradabad and Principal Heads of the Departments of Northern Railway and senior officers of Moradabad Division.
The Minister was briefed about the developmental projects ongoing in Moradabad Division of Northern Railway. He was also informed about the various stations falling on this section and the passenger amenities present on them. Enroute the entourage stopped at Gajraula Railway station. Here the Hon’ble Minister interacted with some public representatives. He keenly noted their demands.
On reaching Bijnor station, he inspected the platforms and the circulating area and accessed the various passenger amenities present there. The Minister advised for better cleanliness in and around the station. He also instructed to open more catering facilities at the platforms for convenience of the travelling rail-users.
He interacted with the media present on the station. He replied to their queries and informed them that Railways is leaving no efforts to complete the on-going developmental projects and works of passenger amenities on time. He also keenly listened to the expectations and demands of the people, especially for bettering rail connectivity to Delhi and Lucknow. He also assured them that the survey work of the Meerut-Hastinapur-Bijnor new line work will be completed soon.
The public representatives also requested for replacing 59-B manned level crossing gate with a ROB/RUB. The closure of the gate which is within the city limits causes traffic jams and a lot of inconvenience to the road users.
The Minister assured that the Rail Ministry will definitely ensure that better and convenient travel facilities are provided to the rail users of this region.
Expressing satisfaction on the progress of the on-going passenger amenities enhancement works, the Minister advised that all these projects should be completed in the stipulated time so that the people can benefit from them. He further emphasized that utmost importance should be given to safe and punctual operations of train.
