RAJOURI, Sept 27: In order to initiate game events by kicking off Football Tournament in Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Rajouri, a final match was played between B-Tech–1st Semester team and B-Tech-5th Semester team which was won by latter by two goals to nil (2-0).
Vice Chancellor, Prof Irshad A Hamal was chief guest on the occasion, while Dean of Students MR Chowdhary was guest of honour.
Earlier, in the summit clash, 5th Semester team was leading by (1-0) in first half. The goal was scored by Tafazul Irshad who showed acrobatic skills in heading the ball into the net in 28th minute.
The B Tech team of 1st Semester could not score in the 1st half. Mubbasar increased the lead by pelting a goal with a fine kick in front of the goal post in 52nd minute.
The Tournament was organized under the supervision of Mohammad Din, Deputy Director Physical Education and Sports of BGSBU.
Prof Hamal while speaking on the valedictory function said that the University wants to compete with the rest of world with regard to academics as well as sports.
Mr Chowdhary also spoke on the occasion.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Mohd Ishaq, Controller of Examination, Prof B A Wafai, Director Centre for Biodiversity, Col Dogra, (Retd) Principal Polytechnic, Suneet Gupta, Special Secretary to Vice Chancellor and Prof SK Gupta, Head, Department of Management Studies.
