DPS Jammu wins first position in science exhibition

JAMMU, Aug 26: Akriti Khajuria and Karen Rangroo of Class XII of Delhi Public School Jammu brought laurels to the school and their parents by winning 1st position in One Day Science Exhibition organized by the Department of Zoology, University of Jammu in collaboration with Human Genetics, University of Jammu and GMC, Jammu.
Out of 41 participant institutions including various Schools, Colleges and different Universities from Jammu, Delhi Public School Jammu bagged first position in Poster Display Competition on “Awareness of Genetic Disorders”. The thrust areas were Congenital abnormalities, Autosomal Genetic Disorder, Sex Linked Disorder, Rare Genetic Disorders, etc.
The chief guest, Prof. M.K Dhar, Ex Vice Chancellor, JU and Chief Coordinator-Human Genetics, JU, along with Prof. Shashi Sudhan gave away the certificates and cash prizes to the winners.
The other members present on the occasion were Prof. Seema Langer-Dean, Life Sciences and HoD of Zoology, Prof. BK Bajaj, Coordinator-Human Genetics and Prof. G.D Saini, Head-Pediatrics, Government Medical College, Jammu, while the keynote speaker was Prof. Anupam Kour (GNDU, Amritsar).
Principal-DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra congratulated both the students and their Teacher Incharge Dr. Gurmeet Kour and encouraged them to participate more in such events for experiential learning.
