Record 12 medals for J&K in Kickboxing

JAMMU, Aug 26: The team of Kickboxing brought laurels to Jammu and Kashmir with record medals haul in the WAKO India National Kickboxing Championship 2022 (Senior & Masters–Male & Female–All events), which was held at Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The team took part in the National event under the banner of Kickboxing Association of J&K. The J&K teams won 12 medals, including four silver and eight bronze.
In total, a 39-member contingent represented J&K at the National event that took place at Nehru Stadium Chennai and returned with flying colors.
Ajay Verma MD President District Jammu Kickboxing Association and Abhishek Jain UT General Secretary accorded warm welcome to all the participants on their arrival to Jammu.
They also expressed gratitude to the coaches Danish Padha and Deepanshu Gupta for their contribution towards making MA Stadium Kickboxing Centre at Jammu as nursery of the champions.
“With the setting up of a specialized training facility within MA Stadium by the J&K Sports Council, the Association has been able to groom the young talent as medal winners,” said Abhishek Jain.
The Silver medal winners were Mannat Mehta, Vishav Kumar, Saksham Sharma, Anil Chib, while the Bronze medal winners were Harsh Vardhan Singh, Ritwik Mansotra, Nakul Sharma, Rahul Kumar, Manik Singh Manhas, Owais Mehraj, Dheeraj Partap Singh and Deepak Thappa.
