JAMMU, Aug 29: KC Public School students organized an exhibition on ‘Round Square Discovery Framework’ (RSDF) which was inaugurated by Sunaina Mehta Sharma, Joint Director Tourism,  here today.
Students dressed up in costumes from around the world signifying the RSDF tenet of ‘Diversity’ gave a cordial welcome to her. After cutting the ribbon, she visited the exhibition arranged in the Library displaying six pillars of Round Square, namely, Internationalism, Democracy, Adventure, Environmentalism, Leadership and Service.
Display of environmentalism was done by School Paryavaran Sadan by presenting visuals of waste materials turned into art and utility.  A street play on the theme ‘Say no to plastic’ was also performed by students for the visitors. The key position holders of Environment Club, namely, Aakarsh Roshan Sharma, Mrinmay Mehta, Shambhavi Gupta and Harshita Manhas also spoke about the activities undertaken by the Club such as eco-bricks, herbal garden, drip irrigation and tree plantation.
A community service centre in the exhibition area highlighted the ‘Raunak’ project launched last year for the welfare of slum children by KCPS student Asechan Chib which was the main attraction of the exhibition showing pictures of various activities being done by the slum children at various ‘Raunak’ Centres in Jammu. Another innovative display was the original nursery rhymes modified with tenets of discovery framework such as compassion, tenacity and team work.
A large number of parents patronized the exhibition and interacted with students manning various subject-based exhibits displaying models, charts, booklets, posters and comic strips, performing items in the exhibition consisted of an Urdu Mushaira and a wonderfully sung Qawwali based on ‘Discovery Framework’.
The student-led exhibition was managed by Round Square Prefects Ojasvi Raina and Aadhar Kapoor.  Managing Director Arti Chowdhary appreciated the way students had presented the exhibition in conformity with the principles of the Round Square Discovery Framework. Principal Amarendra Kumar Mishra also congratulated the staff and students for putting up an excellent show.
