GCW holds Workshop cum Slogan Writing Competition

JAMMU, Sept 28: Home Science Department of Government College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar, organized a Workshop-cum-Slogan Writing Competition on “Youth Awareness Programme” in collaboration with Ministry of Petroleum, here.
On this occasion, Dr Kiran Bakshi, Principal of the College presided over the function, while Gurvinder Pal Kajla, Senior Officer was the Resource Person.
Prof Kanika highlighted the need of conserving the renewable energy resources, which are fast depleting due to their immense demand in the world. The Resource Person also threw light on the alarming need of conserving non renewable energy resources and work out the ways to reduce their use.
Video clipping was also displayed on global warming with the objective of saving natural energy resources.
Principal, Dr Kiran Bakshi while addressing the students stressed upon the need of preserving these energy resources by changing the comfortable life style. Slogan writing competition was also held on the theme of “Conservation of Petroleum Products”.
It was adjudicated by Prof Sudha Gupta, Prof Renu Dhar and Prof Minnie Sharma.
Prizes were distributed among the winners on the occasion. Jyoti Devi bagged first position, while Neetu Devi and Neha Bajaj secured 2nd and 3rd position respectively. Prof Ramandeep Kaur presented vote of thanks.
