JAMMU, Aug 31: The Department of Zoology has organized a special interactive seminar talk by an eminent Zoologist Prof. Jagat Kumar Roy from Department of Zoology BHU, Varanasi on the topic “HPV induced cervical cancer”, at Auditorium of Constituent College of Cluster University, GCW Gandhi Nagar, here today.
Prof. Roy gave detailed information on the HPV induced cervical cancer including its causes, risk factors and probable treatment of the same. Students and faculty from the audience showed active participation by asking questions to the keynote speaker.
The event was graced by Vice Chancellor Prof. Bechan Lal, Registrar Dr Jatinder Khajuria, Dean Academic Affairs, Dr. Naveen Anand, Deans of various departments, Dr. Sanjay Verma (Dean Faculty of Sciences), Dr. Chander Shekhar Sharma, Dr. Ranvijay Singh, Principal GCW Gandhi Nagar Dr. Minu Mahajan, Coordinator Zoology, Dr Anil K Verma, Coordinator Botany, Dr. Rajinder Sharma and Coordinator Environmental Sciences, Dr Nazia Rasool.
Apart from these dignitaries, faculty from the Department of Zoology and Botany from School of Sciences and faculty from Department of Zoology, GCW Gandhi Nagar was also present.
More than 500 students attended the lecture. Dr Sanjay Verma (Dean Faculty of Sciences) and Dr Anil K. Verma were the convener of the event, while Dr Gurpreet Kour, Dr Roopali Fotra, Dr Jyoti Sharma were the organizing secretary who conducted the event successfully along with the organizing team including Dr. Shallina Gupta, Dr. Anupriya Sachar, Dr. Pallavi Shrikhandia and Dr. Raman Jasrotia.
