Jammu Reds to face 21st Bihar Regiment in Summit Clash

POONCH, June 12: Scripting convincing victories over their rivals in the semifinals, the 21st Bihar Regiment and Jammu Reds team have made it to the finals of the ongoing Shaheed Manjeet Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament, being organized by Shaheed Manjeet Singh Volleyball Club at Higher Secondary School ground, here.
Now, these two teams would lock horns with each other in the summit clash for the top honours in the tournament.
Earlier, in the first semifinal played today, Jammu Reds outclassed PK Club, a Sports Authority of India (SAI) team by two goals to nil (2-0) to make way for the title clash, while in another semifinal, 21st Bihar Regiment drubbed formidable Waryam Club by three goals to one (3-1) and sealed a berth in the finals.
The matches were officiated by Kulwant Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Pushkar Raj and Ruchika Sharma, hockey coach, while the tournament is being held under the supervision of Mohd Tariq Khan, organizing secretary.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Netar Singh, Rajinder Singh, Nazir Charak, Gurdev Singh, Mahinder Singh, Ajeet Singh, Manjeet Singh and ML Sharma, Principal Higher Secondary School Poonch.
