JAMMU, Sept 12: Uday Bhanu Chib, president J&K Pradesh Youth Congress inaugurated the Shastri Judo Academy in the premises of Sacred Heart College, here today.
On the occasion, Vikas Gupta, Suraj Sharma and Lakhan office bearers of J&K Judo Association along with Suraj Bhan Singh Chief J&K Judo coach, instructor Shastri Judo Club Kanika Gupta and Kanishka were also present.
The Academy was declared open after performing ‘Pujan’ amidst chanting of Vedic Mantras.
Uday Chib, who was nominated as president of the Academy, said that there is dire need to promote sports activities not only for a healthy citizenry but more than that to divert the youth from the path of indulging in drug related activities.
He asked the J&K Sports Council authorities to become proactive in providing facilities on the pattern of Punjab and Haryana Governments so that our youngsters bring unprecedented laurels to Jammu and Kashmir and its people.
