JKP XI drubs Bhawani CC Katra by 8 wickets

JAMMU, Oct 2: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) XI defeated Bhawani Cricket Club, Katra by 8 wickets in the ongoing Jammu Tawi Premier T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Young Star Cricket Club, Jammu at MA Stadium, here.
Batting first, Bhawani Club scored paltry 80 runs in 19.3 overs. Darshan was the top scorer with 33 runs, while Deepak contributed 16 runs to the total. For JKP XI, RK Bhat and Rompy Sharma scalped 3 wickets each, while Anshuman and Vishal claimed one wicket each.
JKP XI, in reply chased the target easily by losing 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Rompy Sharma played a brilliant innings of 42 runs, studded with 6 boundaries and 2 sixes, while Pankaj Ladda contributed 19 runs with 4 fours. Rajesh Gill chipped in with 12 runs, while RK Bhat was unbeaten when the team surpassed the target. Deepak and Darshan bagged one wicket each for Bhawani Club.
In another match, Kings XI Jammu defeated Jammu Gymkhana by 2 wickets.
Batting first, Jammu Gymkhana scored 94 runs in 18.4 overs. Sachin (24) and Jagandeep (16) were the main contributors. Sahil took 3 wickets, while Vikrant and Rahul bagged 2 wickets each.
In reply, Kings XI chased the target by losing 8 wickets to win the match by 2 wickets. Rahul and Rayees contributed 19 and 18 runs to the total respectively. Rocky, Ishan and Satwant claimed one wicket each.
The matchwas officiated by Sandeep Manchanda and Rajinder Singh as umpires, while Yogesh Sharma was the scorer.
Samar CC will take on Challenger Club at 8:30 am, while Stadium Xi Kathua will face GMC Jammu at 12:30 pm tomorrow.
