Police rescues 15 bovines, seizes vehicle

KATHUA, Sept 17: Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP, R C Kotwal, today rescued 15 bovines in the jurisdictional area of Police Station (PS) Lakhanpur and seized one vehicle (Container) involved in smuggling of animals.
Police said today a team of PS Lakhanpur led by Inspector, Vijay Kotwal SHO PS Lakhanpur under the supervision of DySP DAR, Kathua, Sukhdev Singh during naka checking duty in its jurisdictional area noticed the movement of one suspicious vehicle (Container) bearing Registration Number UP20AT-3169 which was on way from Punjab towards J&K. On seeing naka party driver of the container managed to fled away from the spot leaving behind vehicle. During checking of the vehicle, 15 bovines were found loaded in it mercilessly who were rescued and vehicle was seized on spot.
An instant case has been registered at PS Lakhanpur vide FIR No. 82/2022 U/S 188/IPC, 11/PCA while further investigation into this matter has been set into motion.
