KATHUA, Sept 18: Bhartiya Shiksha Samiti J&K organized its 32nd UT level Athletics Sports Meet at Sports Stadium Hiranagar in which 174 athletes from 13 schools of Zone Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Ramban, Udhampur, Reasi, Katra, Hiranagar (Kathua), Billawar, Treta Nagrota (Basholi), Dangri (Rajouri) and Dashmesh Nagar Jammu zone participated, here today.
Benam Tosh, Commandant IRP 19th Battalion graced the occasion as chief guest, while Vijay Kumar Sharma, President Municipal Committee Hiranagar, Hari Bhushan (General Secretary), Pradeep Kumar, Kanheya Pratap (Sangathan Mantri) Jadev Dada Seva Pramukh Seva Bharti Uttar Kshetra, Daljit Singh DySP and others were present during the event.
Jagdev Singh presented the welcome address and honoured the guests by presenting a photograph of Maa Sarswati, while Sameer Krishan Saproo presented a detailed zone wise report of schools and Khel Khud Samaroh along with educational activities of Vidya Bharti J&K.
Prant Samiti president Ved Bhushan Sharma highlighted the aim and objectives and activities of Vidya Bharti Schools in J&K in which 9000 students are studying under the guidance of 500 teachers working with missionary zeal.
The chief guest in his address appreciated and hailed the role of Vidya Bharti J&K in the field of education especially in sports and games and all other co-curricular activities. “The Vidya Bharti is laying special emphasis on Physical Education/ Sports, Science, Vedic Mathematics, Yog, Sangeet which is the dire need of the present society,” he said. He advised all the athletes to remain away from bad habits.
In his presidential address, President Municipal Committee Hiranagar appreciated the role of Vidya Bharti J&K by organizing sports and other activities for overall development of students.
Kuldeep Raj Prant Sanyozak Khel Khud announced the results and medals as well as trophies were presented to the winning athletes by Benam Tosh and other guests.
Bhaderwah Zone was declared as winner and received the overall championship trophy.
Dr. Naresh Sharma, Prant samiti member presented the vote of thanks.
