Open All India Level FIDE Rating Chess Tournament commences

SRINAGAR, Oct 3: First Kashmir Open All India Level FIDE Rating Chess Tournament started today at Auditorium Hall of SP School, MA Road, here.
It is the first ever FIDE Rating Chess Event ever in the history of Kashmir and the event is being organized by All J&K Chess Association, under the auspices of All India Chess Federation.
100 players from 15 States of India are participating in this event, which was inaugurated by the Principal of SP School, Bashir Ahmad in the presence of Atul Kumar, president All J&K Chess Association and joint secretary All India Chess Federation.
Baldev Raj, secretary of the Association, Riyaz Ahmad Khan, organizing secretary, Gulzar Ahmad, Adil Rashid Shah, Tasaduk Madni and Mohd Akbar Malik were also present.
According to the organizers, total 9 rounds will be played in this event under FIDE Laws of Chess in Swiss System.
Debashish Barua, International Arbiter is the Chief Arbiter of this event and is supported by deputy arbiter Rashmi Saini of Punjab.
