Children performing activity during Grandparents Day at Jodhamal School in Jammu.

JAMMU, Oct 3: To honour the grandparents of pre-primary wing, a Grandparents Day was celebrated with an overwhelming participation and enthusiasm of students and grandparents at Jodhamal Public School, here today.
It was a day of pride for the children to see their grandparents share their experiences with all. The school provided a platform to celebrate the important bonds between grandparents and grand children through various activities.
The function began with the lighting of the traditional lamp followed by a rainbow of cultural programmes under the stewardship of the teachers. The sprightly students of class pre- nursery to class 1 enthralled the audience and held them captive with a Kaleidoscope of vibrant colours of Indian music.
The programme ended with a scintillating performance in the form of a Candle March by the little toddlers as a tribute to the unsung heroes of Uttrakhand and J&K, who recently underwent tragedies.
Suzeet, Principal Carmel Convent was the chief guest on the occasion, who complimented the Principal, Trilok Singh Bist for his efforts in ensuring good learning environment for the children.
Present on the occasion were the trustees Nandan Kuthiala and Arati Kuthiala.
The welcome address and the vote of thanks was delivered by the pre-primary coordinator, Neetu Johri.
