KATHUA, Sept 19: Jal Sanrakshan– a short movie by Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department was screened at various locations of the district to aware the participants about water conservation.
The special screening was organized by Danish Rasool Mir, Assistant Commissioner (Panchayat) – Kathua under the supervision of Rahul Panday, Deputy Commissioner, Kathua in all the 19 blocks of the district at various locations like Panchayat Ghars, Block Headquarters and Panchayat Secretariats free of cost.
A good number of local villagers including school children, Panchs, Panchayat Secretaries, Panchayat Accounts Assistants, Sarpanchs and Block Develo-pment Officers attended the screening.
Besides, Bollywood movie ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ was also screened for generating awareness to improve sanitation conditions, with an emphasis on the eradication of open defecation, especially in rural areas and water conservation.
