Rs 14.65 lakh proposed for road repairs in Jammu under SDRF

SRINAGAR:  Jammu and Kashmir government has proposed Rs 14.65 lakh for repairs of roads in Jammu under State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF).
Replying to a Calling Attention Notice by Prof Chaman Lal Gupta of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Legislative Assembly today, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Mir Saifullah on behalf of R&B Minister informed the House that 26 roads were damaged due to heavy rains in Jammu West during recent rains.
He said an amount of Rs 14.65 lakh has been proposed under SDRF and out of which Rs 7.33 lakh has been released.
The restoration work is in progress and the roads shall be restored fully by way of black topping in the current year, he  said.
He said rainfall this year has been excessive and incessant, which has resulted in road damages.
The roads are being restored and maintained continuously and are trafficable, he said.
The riding surface at some places is damaged and is being repaired and premixed, he added.
