Ensure 100 percent utilization of funds for achieving physical targets: DDC

DODA, Oct 4: Apply coordinated efforts and collective approach in execution of works and schemes in the District and ensure 100 percent utilization of funds for achieving the desired physical targets for the benefit and welfare of poor people.
This was stated by the District Development Commissioner Doda Mubarak Singh while reviewing the physical and financial achievements made by the line Departments under Annual District Plan 2013-14 and other Centrally Sponsored Schemes.
Additional District Development Commissioner Doda G.N Balwan, Assistant Commissioner Development Doda Rakesh Kumar, Chief Planning Officer Doda Yoginder Katoch, Chief Medical Officer Doda Dr. Ajay Gupta, besides Superintending Engineer PWD (R&B) Division Doda, X-En PHE, X-En PDD and other District and Sectoral Officers also attended the meeting.
While reviewing the sector wise physical and financial achievements of the departments, DDC directed the officers to gear up their field functionaries so that the benefits of the schemes and programmes percolate down to the poor people. He said the schemes and programmes need to be implemented as per the laid instructions and guidelines so that the targeted population get the benefits.
Regarding extension and development of Agriculture, Horticulture and allied Departments  in the District, Mr. Singh exhorted upon to concerned officers to ensure that the benefits of schemes like ATMA and Horticulture Mission percolates down to the deserving  beneficiary for the better and desired growth/ development of the sector in the area.
Regarding  plantation programme of the Forests Department in the district, DDC directed concerned officer of Forest Deptt. to involve NGOs and School/ College students in plantation programme also so that it becomes a mass movement, that will certainly help to develop a sense of environment conservation among the student community and society.
While reviewing the IAY and MGNREGA in the District, he directed  RDD to ensure creation of durable and community assets which are really required in the village/ panchayats . He also stressed upon the RDD to motivate people to have sanitary toilets attached to their houses.
Reviewing the Engineering Departments, DDC expressed displeasure over the slow pace of construction work on Accidental Hospital at Khellani, He directed JKPCC to make extra efforts so that projects gets completed at an earliest. He also directed XEn PWD (R&B) Division Doda to expedite the work in GHSS Khellani for its early completion. Mr. Singh also said that under PMGSY land compensation should not be an issue for holding up of road construction works.
