JAMMU, Sept 26: Adarsh Club Miran Sahib excelled in the 4th District Jammu Tug of War Championship by winning the Senior (Mixed 4+4) men and women titles. The Championship was organized by District Jammu Tug of War Association under the aegis of J&K Tug of War Association and J&K Sports Council.
Around 98 students representing institutes and clubs of Jammu District participated in the championship.
In the prize distribution function, General Secretary J&K Tug of War Association Jodh Singh Isher was chief guest and guest of honour was Jasbir Singh Joint Secretary J&K Tug of War Association who gave away winners and runner up trophies, medals and certificates and also other individual prizes.
Speaking to the gathering, Jodh Singh Isher appealed to all the participants to take part in sports in a big way and stay away from drugs and refrain from indulging in anti-social activities so as to become a healthy and responsible citizen.
Among other distinguished gathering present were Nirlap Kour Head of the School Management, Arti Jamwal, Coordinator Unique Public Higher Secondary School and Ravinder Singh an International Player.
In Senior Mixed 4+4 men and women (580 kgs weight), Adarsh Club Miran Sahib beats Khalsa Club Nanak Nagar Jammu by 2-1 sets in the first semis, whereas in the second semifinal, APS Club Miran Sahib beat Unique Club Gadigarh Jammu. In final, Adarsh Club Miran Sahib defeated APS Club Miran Sahib by 2-0 sets.
The matches were officiated by the technical panel including Sourav Dubey, Jaswinder Singh and Kiran Kumari.
The certificate and title trophies were sponsored by Trans Asia Hotels Private Limited.
