Kavita enthralls audience at Devotional Song Competition

KATRA, Sept 30: Kavita Paudwal enthralled the audience with her performance during the ‘Devotional Song Competition’, organised by SMVD Shrine Board in collaboration with Department of Tourism, PTC Punjabi Gold and Patanjali Dantkanti as part of Navratra Festival at Yog Ashram Complex, here today.
The event start with lighting of the traditional lamp, wherein renowned singer Kavita Paudwal was the chief guest along with Yog Acharya Swami Yoga Nand ji Maharaj, Chairman All Devotional Song Committee and President Hotel Association Katra, Rakesh Wazir and Assistant Director Tourism Amika Bali, former winner of AIDSC Vanshika Jaral.
On the 5th day of the competition, Aseem Sharma from Jammu took Ist position and got the entry into semi final, scheduled to be held on 3rd of October, whereas Meenu Atwal from Punjab stood 2nd and 3rd position was shared by Chandan Kumar and Rahul Laknotra both from Jammu who also got their entry into quarterfinal to be held on 2nd of October.
Singer Kavita Paudwal who is known for singing devotional songs and has released around 40 music albums including Gayatri Mantra, Krishna, Lakshmi and Amrutvani as well as a big name as play back singer in films, mesmerised the audience with her melodious songs. Former winner of the AIDSC Vanshika Jaral too gave her performance during the event.
The competition auditions were judged by the panels of experts in music including Dr Surinder Kumar Sharma HoD Govt. Degree College Sunni Shimla and Dr CL Verma, Ex Chairman Post Graduate University of Himachal Pradesh.
The proceeding of competition was conducted by Rakesh Wazir and said that top media and film personalities have already given their consent to be there in the panel of judges for finals including former Chairman Central Board of Film Certification Pahlaj Nihalani, Managing Director Venus Records & Tapes Ltd., Ganesh Jain, Filmmaker Gordhan Tanwani, Managing Director Times Music and Filmmaker Parveen Shah, Film Trade Analyst Kumar Mohan and Filmmaker Rishi Raj will be there in panel of judges during the finals.
The competition is co-sponsored by Monalisa Fashion and Wedding Stores, Lia Agarbatti, J&K Bank, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Speciality Hospital, Nideesh Builders Pvt. Ltd. Jammu, Yog Ashram Trust with active support of District Administration, while 92.7 Big FM is Radio Partner. The live telecast of the programme starts from 9 PM onwards daily on PTC Punjabi Gold.
