First Open Water Fin- swimming C’ship inaugurated

SRINAGAR, Sept 30: First Open Water Fin-swimming National Championship, organized by Underwater Sports Association of- India (USAI) in collaboration with Underwater Sports Association of J&K was inaugurated at Water Sports Centre Nigeen, here today.
The championship was inaugurated by Kuldip Patil, wherein more than 50 participants from different parts of the country are taking part in events including 150 meters Bi-Fins and Mono Fins boys and girls.
Mohsin Fayaz Shah, Mohammad Daaib, Madhav Daudiya, Bhavya Mehta, Nabila Khan, Zoobiya Tariq, Sheikh Momin Bin Tariq, Shreya Daudiya, Hetvitalajiya and Hashmatullah Shah have won gold medals in different events and age categories.
The championship was held under the supervision of technical officials from Underwater Sports Association of India including Santosh Kumar, Deshmukh, Edna Sharma and Zahid Iqbal.
Sharing details about the said championship, coordinator Ahsan Ali said that one kilometre and three kilometre events will be organised tomorrow before the prize cum closing ceremony.
The vote of thanks was presented to the Department of Tourism Kashmir, Health, and officials of Swim N Survival Society-K for their contribution in the championship.
