KATHUA, Oct 1: Four NCC cadets of Govt Degree College Kathua represented Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Directorate in All India Thal Sainik Camp, held at New Delhi from September 14 to 26 and competed in various competitions during the event.
Senior Under Officer, Akhil Kumar of 4th J&K Bn NCC of GDC Kathua has been selected for Map Reading as a nominee of the event and bagged Silver medal in All India quiz competition, whereas Junior Under Officer, Mittal Singh of 4th J&K Bn participated in Health and Hygiene as a nominee of the event and secured Bronze medal in Tug of War competition.
Two cadets of J&K Girls Bn of GDC Kathua, wherein Senior Under Officer, Denakshi Sharma got selected for Obstacle Training, while Sargent Samriti Rani was selected for Inter-Directorate Service Shooting competition.
Addressing the NCC cadets, Principal Prof Sumanesh Jasrotia appreciated their extraordinary performance and exhorted the NCC cadets to work with dedication and sincerity. He said that participation in the National banner camp itself is a morale boosting for the cadets. He also appreciated the efforts of ANO 4th J&K Bn NCC Dr Verinder Singh and ANO 2 J&K Girls Bn NCC, Dr Rachana Devi for their dedication and hard work.
Later, the participants were honoured by the College Principal.
