UDHAMPUR, Oct 6: 33rd North Zone (Uttakeshtra) level Volleyball tournament, organised by Vidya Bharti and Bharatiya Shiksha Samiti J&K was inaugurated at Bharatiya Vidya Mandir High School Nainsu, here today.
Chief guest of the event was Dr Vinod Kumar (IPS Senior Police Officer), along with Bal Krishna (Seh. Sangathan Matri Vidya Bharti Uttakeshtra), Malkhan Singh (Kestra Khel Kud Sanyojak), Ramesh Bamotra (Vidya Bharti Uttakeshtra Seh Sanyojak) and Kishor Chauhan (Keshtra Pramukh), Suresh Parihar (Seh.Mantri), Pradeep Tripathi (Prant Nirakshak), Sameer Krishan (Office Secretary) and Kuldeep Raj (Khel Kud Sanyojak).
Other prominent personalities of Udhampur including Dr Yogeshwar Gupta (President of Municipal Committee), Advocate Amit Sharma (DDC Majalta), Rakesh Sharma (DDC Ghordi), School Management Committee Member Mamchand, Advocate Anil Khajuria, Ashok, Nand Kishore (Kisan Morcha Prant Prabhari), Uday Veer Singh (President Association of Industries), DDC Councillor Vikram Salathia, Rakesh Khajuria, Anil Arora and Chaman Gorkha (SHO) Udhampur were present.
About 300 players from the 15 schools of five States including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir are participating in Bal Verg, Kishore Verg and Tarun Verg categories.
The visiting guests were introduced by the School Principal, Renu Sharma, while mementoes were given to guests by Arun Gupta (BSS Patron) and president Bhartiya Vidya Mandir Udhampur Sunil Badyal.
The chief guest of the program Dr Vinod Kumar apprised the children about sports and also made the children aware of the various schemes of the Government of India such, followed by a colourful program was presented by the children of Bharatiya Vidya Mandir High School Nansu.
