DAP leaders conduct mass contact prog at Kathua

KATHUA, Oct 6: Former minister and senior leader of Democratic Azad Party (DAP), Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today along with Subhash Gupta (Ex-MLC) during a public meeting at Kathua today apprised the masses about the DAP, its flag and party agenda.
While speaking on the occasion, Manohar Lal said that flag consists of three colours – mustard, white and blue. Sharma claimed that mustard symbolises creativity and diversity; white – peace and harmony while blue represents both the sky and sea. It is associated with open space, freedom, imagination, inspiration and sensitivity. It also signifies depth, trust and sincerity, he added.
Sharma further said the political philosophy and agenda of DAP is to restore statehood status to J&K along with land and job rights to the people of Jammu & Kashmir. He said that people of J&K feel betrayed by the downgrading of the historic state and deprived of the rights to land and jobs.
The Democratic Azad Party would intensify struggle for the restoration of statehood with protection to jobs and lands for the local people. He said there is no other leader like Ghulam Nabi Azad in any other party. He termed the period of Azad as J&K Chief Minister, the `golden era’ for J&K, especially for Jammu region.
DAP leader Subhash Gupta said that the causal workers, daily wagers, consolidated employees, need based workers and employees of several departments highlighted their demands through protests seeking fulfillment of the commitments and promises by BJP government to them while in opposition and after assuming power, they are neglected by the government instead of resolving their issues.
He urged the government to consider the long pending demand including regularization of workers of different departments. He also urged the youth to join hands with Ghulam Nabi Azad for better future and over all development in the Jammu and Kashmir. He also demanded compensation for the farmers of the border belt of Kathua, whose crops were damaged due to rains and hailstorm.
DAP leaders Devinder Singh Bindu, Ch Brijeshwar Singh (BDC chairman Barnoti), Kulbushan Singh, Ajatshatru Sharma, Arjun Singh and others were also present on the occasion.
