Taekwondo C’ship commences at Poonch

POONCH, Oct 8: Taekwondo Championship, organized by J&K Sports Council in collaboration with District Poonch Taekwondo Association, commenced at Indoor Sports Complex under ‘My Youth My Pride’, here today.
More than 150 young budding players both boys and girls are participating in sub junior, cadet, junior and senior events.
Premprakash Luthra, senior vice president Poonch District Taekwondo Association was the chief guest. He congratulated Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, Nuzhat Gull for providing an excellent platform to the youth by organising these kinds of events.
Earlier, the august gathering was welcomed by Rajinder Singh Taekwondo Coach. The championship is being held under the overall supervision of In-charge Manager Sports Stadium Poonch, Bashir Ahmed.
Meanwhile, the Cricket and Kabaddi competitions were also organised at the same venue, whereas in Kabaddi, Star Club beat Royal Club.
The Taekwondo matches were held under the supervision of Rajinder Singh Taekwondo Coach, Ashaq Hussain, Rupneet Kour, Mohd Sameer, Karan Bhargav, all district referees, while Cricket matches and Kabaddi matches were officiated by Shoieb Akhter, Rushab Dar, Imtaiz Ahmed and Rushab Bali.
Prominent persons including Musthaq Ahmed Boxing Coach, Pravaiz Malik Afridi Chairman RDCA, Amit Sharma joint secretary PDTA, Ramparkash Ground Incharge, Navjot Singh Khelo India Hockey Coach and Rohit Sharma Boxing Coach were also present during the event.
