Advisor presides over KC Sportathon valedictory function

JAMMU, Oct 22: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar presided over the valedictory function of ‘KC Sportathon-2022’- a tribute to Founder Chairman, Sudershan Mahajan, here today.
The Advisor was the chief guest of the closing ceremony which was culminated with great zest at KC Sports Club, the award ceremony was also graced by the Chairman of KC Educational Society, Raju Chowdhary, Managing Director, Arti Chowdhary, Vice-chairperson Arjun Chowdhary, Managing Director of upcoming Taj Vivanta Hotel, Siddhant Chowdhary and Principal of the School, Amarendra Kumar Mishra.
The guests were presented with potted saplings by the president of KC Paryavaran Sadan, followed by the lighting of the lamp ceremony performed by the chief guest and other dignitaries.
The week-long mega event was organised at varied venues such as Junior Sports Ground, Senior Sports Ground and KC Sports Club. The chief guest was taken on the round of KC Sports Club which he praised as the world-class hub for learning various sports.
The efforts of the students in different sports like Cricket, Soft Tennis and Swimming were commended by the chief guest.
In the Soft Tennis (Boys), Soham Bhat of KCPS bagged the first position, whereas Shulin Koul of JMPS won the second position. The third position was shared by two boys, namely, Hardeep Singh of KCPS and Madhavendra Singh of DPS.
The Soft Tennis girls category winners were Sidhani Singh of DPS, and Shreemai Bhat and Harshita Jalali of KCPS who grabbed 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. In Cricket, KC Public School emerged as winners and KC International School got the runners-up trophy.
KCPC secured first position with 121 points in Swimming, Jodhamal Public School stood 2nd by scoring 65 points and Heritage Public School won third position with 43 points.
Vanshika Gosain of grade 6th was given certificate of Scholarship for her selection at National coaching camp organised by the Swimming Federation of India ‘Khelo India Junior’ women’s swimming series at New Delhi.
The chief guest addressed the gathering with his knowledgeable thoughts and apprised the students about the role of sports in character building of an individual. Principal Amarendra Kumar Mishra proposed the vote of thanks.
