TN thrashes J&K by 8 wkts

JAMMU, Oct 22: Talented opening batter Shivanti Gupta continued her brilliance with the willow, but Jammu and Kashmir suffered a crushing defeat against formidable Tamil Nadu in the ongoing Senior Women’s T20 Trophy at Amingaon Cricket Stadium, Guwahati today.
Earlier, put into bat, J&K scored 111/2 in the stipulated 20 overs. Shivanti Gupta top scored with unbeaten 48 runs off 56 balls, while Rubia Syed contributed unbeaten 36 off 42 balls, studded with 2 fours and 2 sixes.
For Tamil Nadu, Niranjana Nagarajan took 1 wicket.
In reply, Tamil Nadu chased the target easily in 15.1 overs by losing 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. R Abarna top scored with 44 runs, while skipper MD Thirushkamini and Niranjana Nagarajan contributed 26 and unbeaten 25 runs to the total respectively..
For J&K, Nadia Chowdhary and Rubia Syed claimed 1 wicket each.
