Rakesh guides WCC to Fazil Kanth Memorial T20 finals

BARAMULLA, Oct 10: Former First-Class cricketer and all-round Rakesh Koul sparkled with his bat and ball to guide Whites Cricket Club (WCC) to the finals of the Fazil Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at Degree College Grounds, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Amar Singh Cricket Club (ASCC) scored a decent total of 159 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process. Ishtiaq and Hamid slammed fabulous half-centuries, scoring 51 runs each, while Rayees and Zeeshan contributed 23 and 20 runs to the total respectively. Rakesh Koul was the pick of the bowlers for WCC, who scalped 2 important wickets, while Sajad, Rayees and Irshad claimed one wicket apiece.
In reply, WCC scored 163 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 18 overs, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Rakesh Koul was the top scorer with magnificent 48 runs, while Irfan and Sajad contributed 37 and 32 runs to the total respectively. Adil also chipped in with valuable 14 runs. Akshay took one wicket for ASCC. Rakesh Koul was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant all-round display.
