JAMMU, Oct 10: Dr Surinder Sharma Memorial Quiz Competition was organized by Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, under the ongoing Inter-Collegiate/Departmental “Display Your Talent” 2013-14, here.
The team consisting of Chahukeshi Jamwal, Ajayshree Singh Sambyal and Kanwal Parihar from the Department of History, University of Jammu, fetched the first position, while the team from GGM Science College, Jammu, consisting of Saveta Sharma, Jagmeet Singh and Daleep Kumar got second spot and the team from Govt College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu consisting of Abhinandan Singh, Balbir Singh and Saurabh Kohli bagged third place.
28 teams from the PG Department of the University and its affiliated Colleges participated in Quiz (Prelims) and five teams qualified for the final round. The other two teams which qualified for final are MBS College of Engg & Tech and Department of Computer Science and IT, University of Jammu.
Dr Anil Gupta from The Business School, University of Jammu, acted as the Quiz Master for Quiz (Prelims.) and Quiz Final.
Prof Neeru Sharma, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, was the chief guest on this occasion who distributed the prizes among the winners.
Among others Prof Jasbir Singh, Provost Hostels (Boys), Prof Yash Pal Sharma, Co-Chairman, Campus Cultural Committee, Dr Vishva Raksha, Co-ordinator, NSS, Dr Meghna Dhar, Dr Madhulika Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Bhanu Pratap, Teacher Incharges of the affiliated Colleges, Research Scholars and the Students of the University as well as Colleges were present on this occasion.
Mr Raman, Department of Physics & Electronics, University of Jammu, acted as scorer.
S Gurpal Singh, Kulbushan Thakur, Balwant Singh Slathia, Surinder Singh Bhalla, Satish Kumar, Arun Kumar, Ram Paul, Yash Pal and R.P.Singh, also coordinated in organizing the Quiz Competition.
