Mime, Mimicry, Mono-Acting Competitions held

JAMMU, Oct 11: The Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, conducted the Mime, Mimicry and Mono-Acting Competitions, under the ongoing “Display Your Talent” 2013-14 at Brig Rajinder Singh Auditorium, here.
In Mime competition, the team from the Trikuta College of Computer Science and Management Studies, Jammu, emerged as the winner, while Govt Women College, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu and PG Integrated, University of Jammu, bagged the second and third prize, respectively. The Certificates of Merit were awarded to the GGM Science College, Jammu and Govt Women College, Parade, Jammu.
The actions speak louder than the words, this was depicted by the young participants in their Mime presentations on various themes such as Female Feticides, Politics, Water Conversation and Damini etc.
Prof Keshav Sharma, Controller of Examination, University of Jammu, was the chief guest on this occasion who distributed the prizes to the winners during the Mime Competition.
In Mimicry Competition, Masood Qadir from the MAM College, Jammu was awarded with third prize for his performance, while Pallavi Kunwar from Women College, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu bagged the Certificate of Merit.
In Mono-Acting Competition, Ramnik Kour from the Women College Parade, Jammu bagged the Third prize whereas Jagpreet from The Law School, University of Jammu and Avinash Lakhnotra from the GGM Science College, Jammu were awarded with Certificates of Merit.
Prof Yash Pal Sharma, Anil Sharma and Vinod Dheer were the adjudicators of the event.
Dr Hema Gandotra, Department of Sociology, was the Teacher Incharge who read the rules and regulations of this event.
The programme was compeered by Anney Mattoo, Joint Secretary, SCC and Divya Mahajan.
Prof Neeru Sharma, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, was the chief guest in Mimicry and Mono-Acting events and distributed the prizes among the winners.
